As Shane helped Mitchie flip over the canoe, he smiled and said, "So, I hope you've been practicing, because we didn't do to well last year." The canoe was a little heavy, but it wasn't to hard to drag towards the water. Although it was dark outside, the moon was giving off just enough light to see the canoe and the water...and most importantly, each other. He glanced up and smiled at her. "Ready?"

Shane nodded after she asked, Are you? He waited for her to climb in before he got in it himself. Grinning at her, he said, "Lets hope we did better than last year!" Actually, Shane hadn't even been in a canoe since they went together last year. And if he remembered correctly, they didn't do so well...
Picking up an ore, he put it in the water and attempted to row the canoe. When the canoe didn't even move, he glanced up at Mitchie, smiled and said, "I don't think I'm doing this right."

Shane watched as Mitchie rowed the wrong way and they bumped into the dock. He laughed and in response to her question said, "I don't think so... Maybe we should try rowing at the same time." Still smiling, he put his ore back into the water. He glanced back up at Mitchieand said, "On three?"

As soon as Mitchie said three, Shane put his ore in the water and rowed as hard as he could. He glanced out onto the water, trying to see if they had moved at all. With both of them rowing, they moved a little bit. He grinned and said, "We moved! It was only a foot, but hey, its better than nothing!"

Maybe we should try it again? Shane nodded and smiled. "Lets do it." He said, sticking his ore back in the water. He pulled it through the water over and over again, moving a little bit each time. "We're almost to the middle of the lake.." He said with a smile.
